The Burrowes unit is a ten bedded Psychiatric unit, catering for both males and females aged between 65 and over who have a dementia type illness.
The unit provides a safe and therapeutic environment in which people receive assessment and treatment during an acute phase of their mental health.
On admission patients are allocated to a Primary nurse and an Associate nurse. A Consultant Psychiatrist is responsible for medical treatment. The team includes other professionals, Social workers, A Psychologist, two Occupational therapists, and a person centred Counsellor.
Access to the Salvington Lodge entrance is via a ramp situated close to the accessible bays. Entry is via a manual double door which opens inwards.
The Reception window is located immediately to the left as you enter the building.
An accessible toilet is situated on the lower ground floor. However, there is both lift and stairs access to the toilet.
Access down to the Burrowes unit is very good. There is a lift and stairs leading down to the ground floor.
